Corporate Support Officer (Administration)

£21,968 – £22,777
37 hours per week. This role can be carried out using a hybrid approach to location, typically 2-3 days in the office with remaining days being able to be worked at home or office.

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a skilled administrator to join our Corporate Services team. Do you have an interest in the services and activities of the Parish of Salisbury?

The Corporate Services Team provides support to the whole council. The post holder will be involved in preparing for and taking minutes at Committee meetings (these are usually in the evening), provide administrative and project support to all levels of officers who work at the Council.

The team support the Administration Leaders of the Council and the Mayor with diary and engagement management.

We are looking for:
An excellent administrator who may have previously supported Senior Officers or Cllrs
Efficient and competent in the use Microsoft Word/Excel and Outlook
Ability to build great working relationships by using their interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and in writing) well
Can work as part of a team and prioritise and adapt their workload effectively

Please cover how you meet the essential criteria below in your application:

Experience in working in an administrative role
Experience of supporting senior managers
Experience of working in a small team in a fast-paced office
Setting meetings, including diary management, drafting agendas, collating reports and minute taking
Use of Microsoft, including Office, Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build good working relationships with a range of people, including elected members and the public.
Exceptional organisation and time management skills in order to meet frequent statutory deadlines
Strong IT skills and experience using software applications
Advanced
written communication skills with the ability to capture the essence of a council meeting/debate
Good levels of literacy and numeracy, likely to be GCSE English & Maths (A to C Grade) or equivalent
Positively assertive and confident
Discreet and able to maintain confidences
Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
Willingness work as part of a team, and with other teams within the council
Adaptable and flexible as priorities and situations change
Conscientious, patient and tactful
