Customer Service Officer

Hours: 15 hours per week averaged out over 4 week rota pattern, Friday & Saturday

Salary:  £12.00 per hour Friday, £18.00 per hour Saturday

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a talented Customer Service Officer to join our dedicated team.

About us:
At Salisbury City Council, our Customer Services Team plays a pivotal role in supporting the entire council. As a valued member of our team, you’ll be serving visitors and local residents with a warm welcome, offering a friendly and professional service in both Salisbury Information Centre and Salisbury Shopmobility.

About you:
We’re in search of a capable team player, ideally from a customer service background. If you are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and excel in building meaningful customer relationships through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, you’re exactly who we need. Cash handling experience would be beneficial.

Essential Criteria:
In your application, please highlight how you meet these key requirements:

  • Experience of customer care and dealing with the public
  • Experience of dealing with numerous and varied queries in a timely manner and handling queues when necessary
  • Good local, regional and national geographical knowledge
  • Understanding of local services
  • Outstanding customer care skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • IT keyboard skills
  • A minimum of Grade C GCSE in English, Maths or equivalent
  • A friendly disposition with a courteous and polite manner
  • Smart, professional appearance
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and professionalism at all times
