Have your say on the future of Bishopdown play area
Salisbury City Council wants to hear your views on the future of the play area at Bishopdown.
The City Council are proposing to upgrade the play area, with the aim of making the play area more accessible to children of all abilities, and wants to know which option – 1, 2 or 3 – is your preferred route.

Option 1
Page 1 (2D view) & page 2 (3D view)
- 9 new pieces of equipment
- 30+ user capacity
- Designed for children 0-8 years of all abilities
- 48+ play features
- Existing multi-play unit to be removed
- Existing junior multi-play unit to remain in situ
- Existing cone climber to be reinstalled to new location (location TBC)
- New tarmac path
- Existing loose bark to be removed and dispersed across remaining play area
- Lay new wetpour safety surfacing and trench edge into surrounding area
New equipment includes:
- 3 seat inclusive swings (shell seat, inclusive seat, cradle seat)
- Inclusive roundabout
- Springer bowl
- Horse springer
- Balance bells
- Fidget totem
- Rain play panel
- Sensory play panel
- Colour wheel kaleidoscope
Option 2

- 6 new pieces of equipment
- Toddler and junior multi-play and junior swings to remain in situ
- Springer and cone climber relocated
- New tarmac path
- Lay new wetpour safety surfacing
New equipment includes:
- Talk tubes
- Rock, paper, scissors play panel
- Inclusive roundabout
- Texture turtle play panel
- Inclusive four way seesaw
- 3 seat inclusive swings (turtle group swing, inclusive seat, cradle seat)
Option 3

- 5 inclusive elements
- 2+ age range
- 21 kids can play
- New tarmac path
- Lay new wetpour safety surfacing
New equipment includes:
- Inclusive roundabout
- Metal combination swing
- Face to face springer
- Sensory hexagons play panel
- Rainbow play panel
- Tic tac toe play panel
Existing equipment:
- Junior Toddler Multi-play Unit
- Flat Seat swings
- Cone Climber (relocated from Toddler Area)
- Springer
Removals:
- Removal of existing swing
- Removal of existing cone climber & bench ready for reinstallation
