Share your Salisbury story for 800th anniversary book

Salisbury City Council is inviting people with a connection to Salisbury to share their stories for a special book, The People’s Story, to mark Salisbury’s 800th anniversary.

The book, which will be published in 2027, will be a lasting collection of short stories from people who live, work, study, volunteer or spend time in the city.

Stories could highlight a memorable moment, personal experience, community achievement, contribution to city life, hopes for Salisbury’s future or a reflection on what Salisbury means to you. Stories may be submitted by individuals, groups or organisations.

Submissions are now open and everyone is encouraged to share their story by 1 December 2026. To submit a story, complete the form on Salisbury City Council’s Salisbury 800 webpage.

The project forms part of Salisbury 800, a city-wide programme of events and projects taking place in 2027 to celebrate 800 years since Salisbury received its Royal Charter. For more information about the wider Salisbury 800 programme, visit the Experience Salisbury website.
