Salisbury celebrates opening of River Park Kiosk

On Monday 24 August, the Salisbury community came together to celebrate the opening of the new kiosk at Salisbury River Park.

Representatives from Salisbury City Council, including the Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Jenny Bolwell, joined the River Park Kiosk team at the kiosk to officially mark the occasion and welcome local customers, who had the opportunity to sample the diverse menu.

The kiosk, operated by Surrey Ices, serves authentic Italian coffees, indulgent ice creams, thick milkshakes, freshly baked pastries, cakes and more. Having opened its doors to customers in May 2026, the kiosk is already a much-loved addition to the park, with residents and visitors alike enjoying its offering. One customer said, “Such a lovely little kiosk in a beautiful location. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the coffee and snacks were great, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. It’s the perfect place to stop and enjoy the riverside. Will definitely be back.”

Cllr Jenny Bolwell, Mayor of Salisbury said, “It was fantastic being here today to celebrate the opening, and I think it’s great Surrey Ices have taken it on. The staff are lovely and so are their cakes! And their coffee milkshakes, I will say, if you like coffee, you must try them!”

Cllr Chris Taylor, Councillor for the St Paul’s Ward, said, “I am absolutely delighted that the River Park Project and Ashley Road Play Area are nearly finished and that youngsters of all ages have been able to use the facility over the summer. The addition of a refreshment kiosk, serving a wide variety of drinks and snacks, will further enhance the facility and encourage more visitors over the coming months. I expect to be a regular customer whenever my grandchildren visit.”

Elaine and Colin Iles, co-owners of Surrey Ices, said, “Thank you to everyone for coming down today to support the grand opening of the River Park Kiosk, along with Cllr Jenny Bolwell, Mayor of Salisbury, Matt Hine, Salisbury City Council’s Head of Business, and Charlotte Eardley, Senior Communications Officer. Thank you so much to everyone in helping us celebrate the grand opening, and we look forward to continuing to serve the local community.”

You can find the River Park Kiosk off Coldharbour Lane, just round the corner from Ashley Road play area.
