Armistice Day Service
The City of Salisbury is set to pay their respects for Armistice Day at the War Memorial in the Guildhall Square on Saturday 11 November.
People can gather from 10.00am to hear the Royal British Legion band perform in the Guildhall Square.
The ceremony will be led by the Salisbury branch of the Royal British Legion with the Mayor of Salisbury Cllr Atiqul Hoque and Salisbury City Councillors present. The Deputy Lieutenant Mr Luke March will also be attending.
The service will begin at 10.40am, led by Reverend Kelvin Inglis. A 2-minute silence will be observed at 11.00am followed by the national anthem and prayers.
Three new plaques were installed at the Salisbury War Memorial in October 2023 to remember local service people who died during World War 2. Project Manager Chris Hewitt will also make a dedication to the plaques, and it is hoped that families of those listed on the plaques will attend to remember their relatives.
