Join us for the return of the Senior Games
Senior Games
Salisbury City Council are pleased to announce that the Senior Games is returning!
This is the second edition of the Senior Games, with the first running in 2019 with participants aged 60 plus taking part in various sports and activities including croquet, golf, kurling, boccia, shotput, football and basketball. Anyone, individual or group, can sign up to take part for free and be part of a fantastic day for fitness and friendships.
The last Games was a great success, with participants enjoying the opportunity to socialise with others. There was some brilliant feedback received, including;
“Fantastic Refreshments and plenty of lunch. Great job of dealing with a very mixed bag of participants. Thanks for all your hard work”.
“A most enjoyable day with a multitude of games. Friendships were made. Went to bed with my medal around my neck, felt like a champion”.
“Thank you all for a great day today. Everyone in the red team seems to have enjoyed themselves even though we were rubbish at quite a few of the activities! Free food, refreshments, t-shirts and bling much appreciated too. Also lovely social event everyone was very friendly”.
The second Salisbury edition of the Senior Games will take place on Sunday 17th July 2022 at Sarum Academy, Westwood Road, SP2 9HS. Booking for teams and individuals is now open. If you are a local group who wish to take part, or an individual who wants to meet others and get involved in this great day, please contact Salisbury City Council’s Community Activity Leaders on 01722 417100 or email bhc@salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk.
