Community project transforms Exeter Street underpass with colourful mural
With the support of the Underpasses Working Group in collaboration with Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Council, a group of local young people from Splash Wiltshire, supported by local artist Fred Fieber have created a colourful mural in the Exeter Street underpass. The 2-day project was the second of its kind completed in Salisbury by Splash-Wiltshire. Passers-by and local residents were very impressed not only by the young people’s excellent work but also by how the mural lightened and brightened the underpass, making it feel safer. Read Me

More ways to donate to Salisbury Pantry
Salisbury Pantry is your local social supermarket. Run by the Salisbury City Council Communities Team for people in the city of Salisbury area who need access to low-cost food. With two part time Managers and a fantastic team of volunteers, this social supermarket was created as a sustainable way to take action on food poverty. This local good cause has had amazing support from local businesses including Tesco Extra, Waitrose, Nicholas and Harris and Tesco Express and from local groups and organisations like Radio Odstock, Harnham Harvest Table and The F3 growing project, which grows food for the pantry shop. At a meeting of its Full Council on Mon 26 Jun 2023, Cllr Annie Riddle, on behalf of the Leaders of the Council, gave an update on recent Council activity. This included the Council’s delight in seeing the beautiful Churchill Gardens used to such good effect as a backdrop for Wiltshire Creative’s stunning production of The Tempest. The City Council’s own events were also celebrated from the Coronation weekend to the recent Motor Show. She also spoke about the challenge of grass cutting following ideal spring grass growing conditions. Read Me

City Council to broadcast its meetings
Starting next week, City Council meetings will be recorded. If you wish to watch the meeting, you will be able to join via a Microsoft Teams link which is shown on the council’s website. If you watch the meeting at a different time, the recording will be available on the Council’s YouTube channel. The first meeting to be recorded in this way will be the Environment and Climate (E&C) Committee at 6.30pm on Monday 3 July 2023. Read Me
