The
Chapel

The Chapel seats approximately 130 people and is dedicated for services of all religions or creed. The cross can be removed if desired. However, if a religious service is not required, it is possible to just sit quietly for a while, or have a family member or friend say a few words with some special music playing in the background.

Services are held every hour in order to allow up to 35 minutes for the service in the Chapel and 25 minutes to enable family and friends to meet briefly after the service on the Colonnade and view any floral tributes* before departure. It is possible, if required, to book a double time slot; which is advised, if you are expecting a very large number of attendees or if a longer funeral service time is required. If a larger attendance is expected you may wish for the main part of the service to take place at a larger church or venue followed by a smaller committal at the Crematorium. Your funeral director should advise you of this when making the arrangements.

The Chapel at the Crematorium can also be used for funeral services prior to burial elsewhere or in the Avenue Cemetery.

*Unless specified floral tributes that are left at the crematorium will remain on the lower colonnade for a minimum of four days after the cremation service before being removed.

Please also be aware that there is a herd of deer residing in the adjoining London Road Cemetery and they periodically enter the Crematorium Grounds and eat cut flowers/funeral flowers that are left at the crematorium.

Arranging a
cremation service

Once a date and time has been arranged and booked at the crematorium, all the legalities and funeral arrangements will be managed by the Crematorium Manager and staff along with your appointed funeral director.

If you wish to have a guided tour of the facility please telephone the Crematorium Office on: 01722 333632 to arrange a mutually convenient time.

Music, webcasts
and visual tributes

Music is a very important part of a funeral service and Salisbury Crematorium can facilitate all the arrangements to make the service as personal and unique as you would expect it to be.

Please speak with your chosen funeral director about the options available to make the service as special as possible.

For visual tributes please speak with your Funeral Director.

Please Note:

Salisbury City Council would respectfully request that consideration is given to the fact that Salisbury Crematorium is a public building. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse to play music or media that may be offensive to others. This should be resolved with your funeral director prior to the day of the service.

We cannot guarantee that live-streamed services or visual tributes will be free of interruptions or errors due to broadband service and/or software issues which are out of the control of Salisbury City Council.

You are warmly invited to contact the Crematorium directly if you require any further information.
